A college has been temporarily forced to close one of its campuses due to an issue with water supply.
South Essex College says its Luker Road campus, in Southend, is closed to all students due to the problem.
In a statement posted on its website just after 11am today (Monday, March 22), the college said: “We are currently experiencing an issue with the water pump system which distributes water at Luker Road campus.
“For health & safety reasons, we have taken the decision to close the campus today while engineers work to rectify the issue.
“Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
“We will provide updates as soon as possible.”
The campus, which is based near Southend Central, offers a range of vocational subjects and adult courses.
There are several studios for media students and there is also science labs, an animal management centre and a sports lab.
The campus also has its own restaurant and coffee shop.
